Installed Lanten but can’t see it? Work through these in order — they’re arranged from most to least common.
The most common case isn’t missing, it’s buried. Open an email and click Apps in the toolbar (in classic Outlook, look on the ribbon). Lanten should be in the flyout.Fix it properly so this stops happening: pin the panel and put Lanten’s icon on every message.
Add-ins install to a mailbox, not to the app. If Outlook is showing a different account than the one you connected during setup — or you’re looking at a shared mailbox — Lanten won’t be there. Check the account in the top-right of Outlook matches the mailbox you set Lanten up with.
Shared mailboxes behave differently with add-ins depending on how they’re set up and which Outlook you’re in. See Shared inboxes for what’s supported.
Check New vs classic Outlook for the support matrix. And if you’ve recently flipped the New Outlook toggle: the add-in is still installed — open any email → Apps → Lanten, then re-pin (pinning doesn’t carry across the switch).
In some organisations, Microsoft 365 is configured so only admins can install add-ins — the Add button is greyed out, or Lanten disappears after install. Forward For IT administrators to whoever runs your Microsoft 365; deploying Lanten centrally takes them a few minutes.
  • Fully quit and reopen Outlook (on Windows, check it’s not still in the system tray).
  • On the web: hard-refresh (Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+R) or try a private window — extensions and stale caches hide add-ins.
  • Still nothing? Sign out of Outlook, sign back in, and reopen an email.

Still stuck?

Email support@lanten.ai with:
  1. Which Outlook you’re using (new / classic / web / Mac — see how to tell)
  2. Whether it’s your own mailbox or a shared one
  3. A screenshot of an open email, toolbar included
Those three things usually make the answer obvious on our side.
