# For IT administrators

> Deploying and approving Lanten in a managed Microsoft 365 tenant — everything you need on one page.

This page is for whoever manages Microsoft 365 for an agency using Lanten. It covers what the app is, the permissions it requests, and how to deploy it centrally. If a user sent you here, they most likely hit an "approval required" screen or a blocked add-in install.

## What Lanten is

Lanten is an Outlook add-in for lettings and property-management teams. It reads the email a user has open, matches the sender against the agency's Street CRM account, and prepares draft replies and CRM actions — every send and every CRM write requires explicit user approval. It's built by LANTEN LTD, a UK company; all data is hosted and processed in the UK.

## Permissions requested

Lanten requests the following Microsoft Graph delegated permissions at user consent:

* View users' basic profile
* Maintain access to data you have given it access to
* Read and write access to user mail
* Send mail as a user *(used only to send messages the user has explicitly approved)*
* Read and write user mailbox settings *(used to create the Outlook categories behind Lanten's tagging feature)*

If your tenant restricts user consent, an admin can grant consent for the organisation — the standard consent dialog includes **Consent on behalf of your organisation**, or grant it via Entra ID → Enterprise applications.

## Deploying centrally

To roll Lanten out without each user installing it themselves:

1. **Microsoft 365 admin center → Settings → Integrated apps → Get apps**
2. Search for **Lanten**, then choose the users or groups to deploy to
3. Deployment typically reaches mailboxes within a few hours; users then see Lanten under **Apps** on any open email

Users still can't see it after deployment? The usual causes are on [Lanten isn't showing in Outlook](/troubleshooting/add-in-not-showing).

## Security summary

* UK-based hosting and processing
* Encryption in transit and at rest
* SOC 2 Type II certified; GDPR compliant; ICO registered
* Street CRM access is scoped to an API key the agency creates and can revoke in Street at any time
* Users can disconnect their own mailbox at any time from the Lanten dashboard
